About Rolling Ridge Study Retreat Community
Rolling Ridge is a study retreat community in West Virginia dedicated to nurturing persons and communities. We have 1400 acres of land for people to wander and use for spiritual renewal as they attend retreats on Meditative Arts, Earth-keeping, Spirituality, Biblical Studies, and Peacemaking. We hope that the cordwood cottage and the house we are building will inform, encourage, and inspire those who come for retreat.
How we built the cordwood cottage
From the outset we were interested in building a small, passive solar cottage out of natural and recycled materials, using local supplies as often as we could. We wanted it to be a learning experience for anyone interested in natural building techniques and envisioned the broader community being nurtured in the process.

How we plan to build the house!
We hope to break ground this spring on a residential community house. It will incorporate many of the techniques and artistry of the cordwood cottage but it will be a full size home and studio.
